Name: Oliver R. Slosser
Nickname (how'd you get it): Formerly “Logs” for falling asleep at The Factor’s first win, currently “Rabbit Eater” for posing the age old question ‘Have you ever eaten rabbit?’ and self-proclaimed “Doc” though I think it will take a gold bracelet to get it changed again.
Age: 22
Location: Malibu raised, school at Berkeley
Favorite hand to play:
Always changing though Ace-ten suited has been kind to me recently
Favorite pro player:
My brother The Factor… Annie Duke is also pretty dope.
How did you learn about the 4SPT:
My brother The Factor
When did you join the 4SPT:
January of this year, my first game was The Factor’s first win and I was able to pull one out in just under a year. I only play when I am in town, which isn’t all that often, but I was able to make it to almost every game of the summer season.
Best thing about winning the 4SPT:
Winning the tournament in honor of my fallen friends Keith Naylor and Tyler Love the da after their memorial. The next best thing about my win though had to be the Fall Brawl II championship belt. I promise it will be worn with pride the next time I am down to play
Most
exciting/best hand you've had on the 4SPT:
I think the hand I played best was against Carlo when we were four handed with two tables left and I called a pre-flop raise with K4(spades).
When the flop came down A-6-8 all spades, Carlo checked, as did I, hoping for a fourth spade to fall. When the 9 of spades hit the turn, I was able to get an all in with Carlo holding the Queen of spades. I was doing everything I could to keep from jumping out o my skin on that one and it gave me the momentum I needed going into the final table.
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you
(why):
I’d say anyone in the degenerate crew as they know how I play pretty well but especially the Factor, Storm and Collins as they usually got a good read on me. Maneater seems to have my number a lot of the time as well.
Where/how did you learn to play poker:
I started playing poker in high school about 7-8 years ago. I like to think of myself as the pre-Rounders generation harking back to the days of dealer’s choice and black Mariah. I brought in the Factor into hold ‘em a few years back, after I got to college and he quickly overtook me in # of hands played with a pretty serious online addiction. I learned from my friends in high school how to play but I would say I honed my game at 4spt and really learned a lot from playing these games.
Anyother interesting stories or whatever else you want people to know:
I just want to say that it means a lot to me that I could come and play with good friends after having lost my two friends to a senseless motorcycle accident. I truly appreciate all the support from everyone on the tour and I am proud to have won the title with their pictures in my pocket. I truly feel this is their win and that they were with me. Thanks to all of you. To my friends Tyler Love and Keith Naylor, I love you guys and I know that you will always be watching out for me, as I will always be thinking of you. Thanks again everyone.
