"Don't get mad that you lost, get mad because you didn't win." - Michael Gersitz
Those who were left watching the controversial showdown between Dave and Alex were mad because NO ONE won. After a night of crazy comebacks, hard fought pots, and overall good poker, the final two players decided that they had enough and just quit. Splitting the pot was the outcome but the aftermath has left some players calling for an asterisk in the Evite while others have cried for suspension. It all started when Dave proposed a deal to Alex (who was about even in chips at the time), that they call it a game and split the earnings down the middle. Dave then added the stipulation that he be declared the winner. This preposterous proposal was agreed to by Alex. This left the few remaining players who stayed to watch the finale in a state of shock. They couldn't believe that they stayed around to watch these two players just throw it away. There will be no asterisks, no suspensions, and definitely no winners.
Highlights
Matt Sexton, who was all-in with A7 against Dave's 77, jumped out of his chair and yelled "YES!YES!" when his Ace paired on the river making him two pair As & 7s. The rest of us around the table waited a moment and then gently let him know that his two pair was still no good to Dave's three of a kind 7s.
A chip and a chair is the mantra for many of the 4th Street players and never was this more true than this week. First time 4th Streeter Chad was down to his last 2 chips but immediately doubled up two times in a row to ultimately take home 4th place. This not only earned him a 4th place finish but also the nickname of “2 Chip”.
During his comeback at table #1, “2 Chip” went all-in with AA in the hole while Dave called showing his pocket KK. Moments later on table #2 there was a replay of this same hand when Charles was all-in with KK only to be “Slewed” by Kevin’s AA.
Michael Thompson earning the name “Six Flags” as he was up and down all night like a rollercoaster. He was down to the felt 4 times and fought back each time to put himself in the money as he took home 3rd place.
