RIP: The Mint's Poker Ability

February 17th, 2004 - August 24th, 2006

The Canadian Mint, aka Charles Wachter, Toronto, Ontario, July 14th, 1974 passed from the world of decent poker play with the birth of his son on August 24th 2006. The Canadian Mint once used his love of randomness and psychology to excellent effect. Often infuriating, the Mint had a good handle on when to push and kept an average eye on the statistics, but mostly used cold hard raises as his primary weapon. With the birth of his son Jack Henry, the Mint's ability to play poker departed this world, along with his sleep. In his after years, the Canadian Mint became a philanthropist, donating $20 to the winner of the tour each week, as a buy-in for the next week. Loved by all, hated by few, the Canadian Mint will forever be remembered as someone who would eat your chips, drink your beer and raise your raises. Rest in Peace The Mint's Poker Ability, may you be reincarnated as a Doyle Brunson's Marker.

This past Thursday, the 4th Street Poker Tour got its newest member, the Junior Mint or as the rest of the world will know him Jack Henry Wachter.

Basic tournament strategy states if your opponents are going to draw on you, you need to make them pay. Well the Tour found out this week that there is no price Will Call won't pay to hit his dear draws. On a night where he made High Noon look like Dan Harrington, Will Call hit an improbable yet amazing amount of his draws.

The Mint is back with his 4th Tour win. Congratulations to Cccc-Mint for besting the field of 25 and being one half of the All Complex Final. With her second place finish, the First Lady has regained the lead in the Fall Season standings.

Spring Season Game 2 Recap

Shooting for an unprecedented two wins in a row, High Noon began her night of domination early and didn’t let up until she was in the Final Showdown. On just the second hand into the tournament, High Noon was able to double-up when Brent “Corey Hart” moved All-In with pocket Queens only to be called quickly by Susan’s pocket Aces. When the Aces held up, she was able to use her chip stack to control Table 1 for most of the night.

Charles “The Canadian Mint” massacred the saints two Saturdays ago in the second

4^th Street Poker Tour Major Championship. Using a nut flush to crush the King and a Canada Dry to cool off the red hot Colin, the C-Mint opened his vaults and watched as the chips flowed to the finals.
