One year ago Will Call took down the TOC and his first major. Last night, Will Call became the first player to win two majors with his victory at the No Limit Texas Smoke 'Em IV.
Thanks to everyone who brought food to the bbq - it was a great way to celebrate my 30th. You can view photos from the Smoke 'Em here.
Remember, there's no game this Thursday.

Well done Will Call and everyone else in the money, except the Fist who truly lived up to his name against me yesterday. Is there a t-shirt that says "I went to the 4th Street Smoke Em and all I got was Fisted"? If not there should be.

First of all, happy birthday once again to the Holsey's from the Halsey...and a big thanks for the meat and the chair...it was a pleasure to attend my first major...and feel the stings of my two lame kings. It was sweet irony that the two players who sucked out my K's, were the two sitting across the table...
Congrats Will Call, on your flop from heaven and the eventual take down, and congrats to Fist, for giving me my first rimjob, but also with thanks for making the day that much more fun...we went at each other all day and it was great.
...and to C-Mint Jr. who touched his first chip stack...but certainly not his last...
J & J, I am grateful for a wonderful day! Peace.

I heard about the KK vs. K8 suckout. My goodness! Not a good day to have pocket kings. Congrats, Will Call. You are a force.

I'm afraid to ask but how exactly did Fist give Clayton a rimjob?
Posted by: will | Monday, May 28, 2007 at 21:23
With two tables left, Fist went all in w/ A4 v. KK Ivan had folded an Ace. Fist flopped the 4 and rivered the Ace...

You can just call me "Major Will" from here on out. And that brings me to 4 wins. Before pick knows it I will be up in the double digiit win club.

Would anyone be interested in a Friday evening Game?
Posted by: Major Will | Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11:43
Is Will Call trying to steal the nickname from someone directly related to the tournament director? Brian "Major" Holsey (coined Major Holsey since he only shows up to the majors, mainly smoke'em, and always seems to find himself sitting at the final table)
Can we get an official ruling on this?
Posted by: The Cooler | Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 12:38
There is a difference of sitting at the Final Table of a "Major" and winning a "Major" 2 in my case. :)
Posted by: Major Will | Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 14:58
I veto Major Will.
Posted by: Slim | Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 15:02
Will: Since you made that K8 vs. KK call and won, your current table name seems completely appropriate, don't you think?
Of course, there's always "Will 2 Win" too.

Um, the TOC isn\'t even a major. It\'s like the PLayer\'s Championship. So you won a major, bro. Awesome. Your brother left his WSOP card protector at Jeff and Jenn\'s. Its on one of those little shelves above the kitchen table.

Congrats, Will Call! When I left, I thought to myself "Only Will Call would be able to take down Clayton's huge stack"... Nicely done.
Speaking of unofficial games: If you feel like driving to Long Beach on any Tuesday night during the summer, I am hosting a different kind of poker tournament each week. This coming week: Limit Omaha, $20 buy-in, no rebuys. Here's my email if you're interested: [email protected]
Thanks for always doing an awesome job hosting, Slim and The First Lady! Happy b-day to the Hosleys, and it was nice seeing you again, Major.
