“Chicago people are kind of fatalistic, but they
continue to hope that somehow, some way the Cubs will shock even them
and win it just one time. Their fatalism allows them to enjoy the
team's success, knowing that one horrible thing will happen down the
line to rip the rug out from underneath them.”
- Harry Caray
That horrible thing happened to Shock G, that somewhere down the line was the very last game of the Year, and that rug was pulled by none other than the Pick.
After leading the Overall Player Points Standings for nearly the entire 2006-2007 Year, Shock G lost the lead on the very last day points would be awarded. The Pick came into the this week's play just two off the lead and he would need to do a lot of work to catch G, who final tabled in his attempt to hold on. The Pick not only final tabled to keep pace but he shot into the lead for good when G busted in 8th place followed by me, Scrubs, and finally the Fist. Having locked up the Overall Points Title as well as the Spring Season III Title, Pick went on to win SpS III Game 12 to add his name to the 10 win club and leave Shock G shattered.
A big congratulations to Johnny who Picked up three more pieces (a 10th win, a SpS III Title, and the Overall Points Title) towards this year's Player of the Year puzzle. However, he still needs one last piece but that can only be determined by you. Cast your votes now.
Pick: I voted for you as player of the year before last night's action. And you justify that call with yet another dominant performance. You make me sick.

Truly the year and season of the Westside Degenerates. Congrats Collins on yet one more victory. Toughness personified.

I wasn't there to see it go down, but I bet it was tittastic. Now you can retire the way you always hoped to- on top. Farewell, Collins, we love you!

Truely epic, consistent all the way, you desreve it. Others stumbled at the wire like spent race horse's. Your focus won out, or maybe it was the tooth pick? Props and congrats Johnny, well done.
