I'd rather be lucky than good -- sometimes. I've been getting killed the last 5 weeks on bad beats and all that. I'll take luck, damn it! Please!
Congrats, Sooooz.

A suck-out that surprised even The Sue (doesn't she always know that they are going to come?). Shock G was financially, emotionally and, oddly, physically crippled after that. When the poker gods have destined Sus to be the winner, no one (not even she) can thwart the victory! Awesome win, Sus!!! Congratulations!! A five-timer, that's impressive. It is also impressive that you are "one of the few" to beat out Richie Rich to win (as he will QUICKLY point out).
Keeping chips in controlled, manageable stacks is for donkeys!

I, in fact, have been unable to walk ever since. I'm currently bed-ridden and having an orderly feed me pudding through a straw. It was THAT crushing!!
However, my typing hands were amazingly unaffected......Weird, huh?
Congrats Noon. One of these days I'll beat you when it counts. Don't know when, but eventually.
Final 3 players....all came from Table 3. All Hail the 3rd Table!
And the points lead is back in the hands of it's rightful owner!! Ha!!

i might suck at poker but the Yankees are beating the Sox 4-1 and have already gotten to their bullpen in the 5th inning of the first game of a doubleheader. SEND IT!!!

Congrrats Noon!
I'm glad to hear you emotianally crippled Shock G that way i still have a chance for the lead....haha!

JJ vs. 77. Lose. AK vs. AQ. Lose. Why, dear God. Why.

And Jamie, you're gay for not being from New York and still choosing the Yankees as your team to root for. That's the equivalent of rooting for the house in blackjack and you know it.
Posted by: | Friday, August 18, 2006 at 14:00
or like rooting for Jun to suck out.
Posted by: Slim | Friday, August 18, 2006 at 14:05
with my entire extended family living in North Jersey, both brothers living in Manhattan, and my parents living in NW Jersey, I feel just fine in rooting for the yankees, especially considering that i started rooting for them in the early 90s when they sucked ass. don't be bitter, just because your team sucks, Mr. Anonymous.

Hi-may might be gay just 'cause he's gay. Which is great, but a native Californian rooting for the Yankees will definitely chap some hides. Myself, I really don't care. I am a quadruple-A purist.

definitely NOT a native californian

Jamie you could have at least choosen the Mets. Rooting for the Yankees is like rooting for the Nazis against Poland in 39. Of course if Hitler had $220 million in player payroll he might have put together a decent starting 5 and a some middle relief.

Though I'm having the worst season run imaginable, I had the most amazing poker experience last night. Jun went all in, Susan called. Short stacked, I pushed my chips all in as well. They both flipped over a 10 for top pair, and I turned over my King high flush draw. Not only did my King come on the turn - but I hit a flush. On Susan! And Jun! And won! Like tripled up kind of won. Amazing. I'm still speechless.

i think the First Lady found the kryptonite for Jun and Susan's luckboxness...get them both in a pot, their luck will cancel each other out, and the third player in the pot will win. brilliant, First Lady, simply brilliant

Congratulations Susan!

Well done, Susan. You were a Juggernaut at the final table, busting everyone in sight. Congrats!

BTW, sorry to derail the topic, but how did the ladies fair at the Legends of Poker Ladies' event this past weekend? Did you go, Susan?
I know the First Lady and Maneater were there. Inquiring minds want to know!

I report that Susan did NOT attend the Ladies Tournament at the Bike this weekend. She said she wasn't "feeling it." And who am I to argue with that?
How did it go? Did our other 4th Streeters represent?

Not "feeling it"?!?!
Is that how it's done? I am now TRULY insulted.
