Name: Carlo Hart
Nickname (how'd you get it): Lo-Lo. Jenn gave it to me.
Age: 30
Location: Studio City
Favorite hand to play:
5 3. I have made a bunch of nasty
full houses with it. No one ever believes you are holding it,
especially if you raised with it.
Favorite pro player:
While Daniel and Gus are fun to
watch, Action Dan Harrington has written the bible (in two parts).
Reading his books is as close to cheating as you can get.
How did you learn about the 4SPT:
Vaughn and Evan.
Although I believe I was standing next to Vaughn at a party the first
time he met Jeff and Jen. (I was thinking "could these people possibly
be as interested in poker as Vaughn?" I thought they were just being
polite.)
When did you join the 4SPT:
I think it was a year ago.
Best thing about winning the 4SPT:
Beating a field filled with so many good players. Having some proof that I have improved.
Most
exciting/best hand you've had on the 4SPT:
I have had many exciting hands, most of which were some hideous
beats i took. But I have also had some great hands, like inducing
action with table talk while holding aces or kings. However the best
one was a nasty beat I served to Elliot. Final table we were down to 4
or 5, i look down at 88, octopi. I had a decent stack but Elliot (on
my left) was the monster stack. I really wanted to throw the hand
away, but after a long time I finally pushed in. My fears had been
correct, Elliot turned over AA. I got up, ready to leave with a
respectable final table finish when the turn card brought the third
Octopus, and suddenly I was the monster stack. That gave me the
mommentum to finish first.
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you
(why):
Vaughn.
Ever. Not only does he know my style (see answer below) but he never
lets anyone play easy and relaxed. He is always on them waiting for an
opportunity to take their chips. Also he loves to move in.
Where/how did you learn to play poker:
I have always
known how to play poker but Vaughn is teaching me how to really play
Texas Hold em. Vaughn is my teacher and pokerstars is my dojo.
Anyother interesting stories or whatever else you want people to know:
Everyone always leaves a general thank you to Jeff and Jenn. I
would like to be a little more specific. I would like to thank Jeff
and Jenn for setting the tone of the tour. Because they take the games
so seriously and because they run such a smooth operation - the players
are able to play in an environment where they can concentrate on
improving their game. We are all getting better because it means
something to us. From the leader board to the recaps, to the end of the
season tourneys, all of these things make the 4th street poker tour
something special. It's more than a way to kill our Thursday nights.
Also i really like all the players, everyone, even the ones that gave
me bad beats.
It's like Menudo--when those cute little boys got old, they got replaced.
Well DBC Generation II is on the rise, with Lo Lo and Alison assaulting the leaderboard while the old standard-bearers languish.
While I am, of course, kvelling with pride, I gotta step it up, or else acdept the fate of Obi Wan and Ricardo (oldest founding Menudo member).
Nonetheless, my charges are banging on you guys (and me). My squad is playing some fine-ass poker, and I'll put it up against any Honkies, Playas, DegenR88, or any other crew with enough of a Complex to come looking for a Beaucoup ass-whuppin.
nuff said.

c lo- you failed to mention that it was MY stellar table talk that put you off a read of my beautiful aces after i had laid down AQ that would have knocked your ass out of the tourney.
but i take my lumps- unlike the storm, who has convinced himself that AK is not a good hand to be holding aaahahahahah!

U r right Radish. I walked right into that one. I never saw AA coming. But i still can't belive you laid down AQ earlier. Was there some crazy look in my eye or something? I got pretty lucky, let's put it that way.
