Name: April Milek
Nickname (how'd you get it): Maneater. I got the nickname after taking out lots of guys at Prefontaine's house one week.
Age: 30
Location: Los Angeles
Favorite hand to play:
I always want to play 9-5 because it's called "Dolly Parton" and I'm a big fan of hers. But when I play that hand, it never seems to go my way. So, I'd say right now my favorite hands are suited connectors.
Favorite pro player:
Gus Hansen. He has a great poker face and he changes his game so much that you can't tell what he has.
How did you learn about the 4SPT:
From Richie Rich and (Kato) Kalon
When did you join the 4SPT:
Fall Season Game 10.
Best thing about winning the 4SPT:
The camaraderie and the organization of the Tour. When I occasionally play tournaments or games outside of the 4SPT, I realize how spoiled Jeff and Jenn have made us.
Most
exciting/best hand you've had on the 4SPT:
I think I remember the hands I lose more than the hands that I win...but one of the early hands on the way to my first Tour win has to be one of the most memorable. Blinds are still small. Justin "The Bookie" raises to $200. I call. Flop comes AJK (two of which are clubs). Justin, who is first to act, raises again. I go All-In. He calls. I turn over Q-10 of clubs, flopping a straight with a potential royal flush. Justin turns over pocket Kings. The turn and the river are no help to his hand...the first man taken out on the way to a victory.
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you
(why):
Noah "The Ark" because he never shuts up.
Where/how did you learn to play poker:
From "grandma poker" home games about three years ago.
Any
other interesting stories or whatever else you want people to know:
I'd like to take this space to thank Jeff and Jenn for all of their hard work and dedication, week after week. If it weren't for their attention to tournament running detail, fondness for instruction manuals, and car packing ability - where would all of us be on Thursday nights?
actually, it was k high with a nine, but she did have the open ended straight flush draw. ouch!
