Name: Noah Ruderman
Nickname (how'd you get it): When God wrote the bible. Actually, I think it was back in 4th grade when, after being pushed inside a locker, I could hear the older kids laughing about how big my "ark" was. Then again, maybe Jeff just thought it up.
Age: 29
Location: Westside
Favorite hand to play:
7/9 suited. The kind of hand
where, if it hits, you can really bust someone. At the same time, it's
easy to throw away when you miss.
Favorite pro player:
Phil Ivey. He's got such a table presence.
How did you learn about the 4SPT:
Dave "Radar" and John "Hussler."
When did you join the 4SPT:
A couple seasons ago.
Best thing about winning the 4SPT:
Being able to shout out "one time dealer!" many more times than one.
Most
exciting/best hand you've had on the 4SPT:
I believe
it was the first game I played on the tour. Having the correct pot
odds, I called a three way all in with AJ and found I was going up
against JJ and KK. The flop came ace, ace, king, meaning I had trips
but the KK had a full house. The only way I could win was with the case
ace or final jack for a bigger boat, which is exactly what spiked on
the river. As lucky a suckout as I've ever seen.
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you
(why):
My first time finishing runner-up was against Von, and ever since then I've had to
respect (and perhaps fear) his game.
Where/how did you learn to play poker:
I've
been playing cards ever since I remember, but really didn't get into
poker until about a year ago. Unfortunately my story is no different
than countless others across this land. (Luckily for me, many of them
are fishes) ESPN, the WPT, Party Poker all helped contribute.
Any
other interesting stories or whatever else you want people to know:
I've
played in "home games" before but what Jeff and Jennifer do each week
can't be applauded enough. Ever since the demise of "Friends,"
Thursday's haven't been the same. Until now, that is. Thanks guys.
