…is the sound of Richie Rich cashing in on his first victory on the Tour. Since joining the 4SPT Richie Rich has been known to accumulate chips at a rapid rate, thus the nickname, but he was never able to parlay those chips into a victory. That is until last week when he brought his A game and his A+ cards.
Richie Rich was on top of his game early, nabbing chips left and right building himself a sizeable chip lead at table two. Over at table one it was a different story as Vonn Sanndmann made a move here and another there to quietly put himself second in chips heading into final table play. Vaughn and Rich had a definite advantage over the rest of the six players at the table and they used their stacks to quickly eliminate the field down to three. While Richie Rich’s night was smooth sailing up to this point, it was more of a downhill slide for the Sandman as he lost all of his early momentum and found himself out in 3rd place. This loss of momentum, and chip stack, allowed Chad “2-Trick” to slide into the heads-up showdown with Richie Rich.
Richie Rich made it look easy, it was one of those nights
where it seemed that he could pick up any pot he wanted in any spot he needed (particularly
if there were 2s or 9s involved). Makes this Tournament Director wonder if
maybe we stop letting players bring their own decks to the game.
