Name: Charles
Nickname(How'd you get it?): The Canadian Mint (C-Mint). I’m Canadian, I use the word “mint” to refer to anything that is mint and I have to produce mega-chip stacks to off set American inflation.
Age: 30
Location: The Complex
What is your favorite hand to play?
That’s a tough one, because my first instinct is a Royal Flush, but that hand is kind of like Snuffaluffaguess. A 4,6 straight draw against aces is always fun, but you need a lot of chutzpah to pull the Barney Ruble on that one. So, I’d have to go with the Miss Piggy.
Who is your favorite pro player?
Vaughn Sandman.
How did you learn about the 4SPT?
After a long night of boozing and shiving in the back alleys of Santa Monica, I stumbled upon a naked, blindfolded Rising Sonny all in pre-flop against a stone faced Complex Slim, a single bead of sweat rolling down his temple.
When did you join the 4SPT?
1923, Game One.
Best thing about winning on the 4SPT?
Having a legitimate excuse for being exhausted the next day at work.
What was the most exciting/best hand you had on the 4SPT?
Four Queens against 2-Trick’s Aces full of Queens. Or the time one of our new guests didn’t notice she had a straight that beat my two pair and Vaughn, following professional etiquette, didn’t tell her, resulting in a crippling mega-loss for her. (see “Favorite pro player”)
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you (why)?
Pokerhontas… it’s my money anyway.
Where/how did you learn to play poker?
By getting the Hoofenutz on the tour one too many times.
Any other interesting stories or whatever else you want people to know
The name Canada originated from a Huron-Iroquoian word, Kanata meaning "village" or "settlement", referring to Stadacona, a settlement on the site of present-day Quebec City. Maps made by early European explorers show that the name River Canada was given to the Ottawa River, and the Saint Lawrence River below Montreal. A plausible hypothesis is that the river was named for the village on its banks, and the surrounding country for the river used to explore it. A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Go leafs. I was raised by a moose.
