When did you join the 4SPT?
I pre-date the Tour. In fact, the Tour as it exists now is just a massively
overhauled version of the original Poker Night that I used to organize.
Back in those days we didn't have a World Wide Web. I'd have to send the
invites out via carrier pigeon a month in advance! Those were dark times
featuring games such as Follow The Queen, Iron Cross, and Night Baseball.
If you haven't played those games before, well, don't worry - they suck!
Mercifully, eventually Texas Hold 'Em became the game of choice. That
coupled with the overall boom in publicity the game received awhile back
helped solidify a fairly regular game. At some point Jeff & Jenn took the
helm, spruced everything up real nice, and it's been nothing but websites
and high times ever since! Nice work guys. Where was I? Oh yeah,
reminiscing about how I used to walk forty miles to school barefoot, in the
snow, uphill, both ways...
What is your favorite hand to play?
I like an A with a real low kicker in the secret hope of hitting the small
straight and crushing any other A hands.
Who is your favorite pro player?
I enjoy Scotty Ngyuen's "Only In America" rags-to-riches story.
What is the best thing about winning the 4SPT?
This was especially sweet as it was the last sanctioned 4SPT event I'll be
playing for awhile. So, to not only finish in the money for the first time
but to finish first overall just made me want to weep with joy. Rent
"Miracle" and you'll get the idea.
What was the most exciting/best hand you had on the 4SPT?
It's not the best hand I've ever gotten, but I greatly enjoyed the pocket 9's
I got on the final hand of Game #15 that allowed me to call the
competition's pre flop all-in.
Where/how did you learn to play poker?
It's a little know fact, but I was raised by wolves who ran a casino on the
side.
4SPT player you don't want sitting next to you (why)?
Where to begin? Matt or Charles can make things tough with their, er,
unpredictable style of play. I'll pass on sitting next to Jeff too since,
for reasons unknown, it seems to insure we'll both get crap cards all night.
